Food & Farms

Who needs 100 miles for a balanced diet? The Creston Valley is the home of the 10-mile diet, and it’s a feast at every meal! We’ve got everything from asparagus to zucchini – fresh, wholesome fruit and vegetables, grains, grass-raised beef and chicken, local deli meats, organic cheese, artisan breads made from locally-grown wheat, honey, jams, syrups, and delicious fruit juices.
Sounds "plum" crazy? Then you’ll just have to see it to believe it. Our farmers’ market runs year-round (and outdoors from the beginning of may to mid October), and it’s easy to find commercial fruit stands and dozens of roadside and farm gate sales.
The Creston Valley is one of BC’s prime agricultural regions. Our continental climate is often modified by air masses of Pacific Ocean origin, especially in winter. That means that our daily maximum temperatures are usually above freezing, even in January, allowing us to grow grapes, peaches, cherries, and more. You’ll feel the pits if you miss it, so buzz over for a visit!
