Creston ValleySpring Trade Show – April 29 & 30, 2016
Touted as the best trade show in the Kootenays, this show brings together businesses from across the region in a festive, friendly atmosphere. 2,500 plus people attend the show over two days. There is tons to see, do and buy. Tremendous door prizes. Sponsors include Home Hardware Building Centre, Mountain FM, Kokanee Springs Golf Resort and Columbia Basin Trust.
The Creston Valley is a vital birdwatching site and staging area for migratory birds with over three hundred species of birds recorded. A designated Important Bird Area, this festival celebrates our wonderful diversity. Activities include a variety of birdwatching events guided by field experts, as well as photography and art displays and bird-oriented workshops. Creston Valley Fall Fair, weekend following Labour Day – September 09 - 10, 2016
For over 95 years - the Fall Fair highlights agriculture, agri-tourism, 100-mile diet, 4H Beef & 4H Horse Club demonstrations, and home-grown and homemade goods in friendly competition for special ribbons and cash prizes.
Blue Heron Half-Marathon and 10K Run, on the third Sunday of September
Two scenic, rolling routes around the conservation area wetlands, through treed areas, and along the winding Kootenay River. Entry fees include t-shirts.
Images Art Group Show & Sale
An annual two- to three-day show and sale by a group of Creston’s professional artists. Each year the group invites a guest artist to participate in this show.
Santa Claus Parade & Christmas Festival, on the first Saturday of December
Welcome Santa Claus to Creston ! Daytime activities include pictures with Santa, Christmas crafts at the Community Complex, great sales at participating businesses, entertainment, and carolers. Free hot chocolate and hot dogs served at the parade at 6:00. Participating businesses will be open late, there will be a contest or two, and a bonfire and caroling in spirit square.
