What does abundance really look like? Fruit trees as far as the eye can see, heavily laden with peaches, plums, pears, and apples. Abundance is what you’ll find in historic Canyon, an agricultural area ripe with orchards and fruit, vegetable, and grain farms, located just eight kilometres southeast of Creston.
We work hard – naturally – but we love fun too. Canyon boasts a beautiful park offering camping, ball fields, horse arena, and a spacious community hall, perfect for sports tournaments, reunions, and good old-fashioned family time. Those seeking a view of the valley can access Mount Thompson and the Thompson Rim Trail in the Skimmerhorn Range from the edge of town.
Our town might not be big, but its heart sure is! Canyon-Lister School, which nurtures students from kindergarten through grade seven, has just become the first school in BC to be affiliated with UNESCO – in recognition of its work in environment and peace education.
